Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the AnglerDex app (the "App"), provided by Noesis Trading Co. Ltd, trading as AnglerDex ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales. By using the App you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. Who can use AnglerDex

You need to be at least 13, and old enough in your country to agree to these terms. If you create an account, keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.

2. Your logbook

Your logbook is stored on your phone, and it's yours. Keep a backup of your phone if you don't want to lose it: we can't recover a logbook that was only on a lost or reset device.

3. Identifying fish

The App suggests a species from your photo. Suggestions can be wrong. Don't rely on them to decide whether a fish is protected, legal to keep, safe to handle or safe to eat. Check with your local fishing authority, and always follow the rules where you fish: licences, seasons, size and bag limits, and catch and release requirements are your responsibility.

Identification is limited to a fair daily amount, so the service stays quick for everyone.

4. Fishing safely

Fishing near water carries real risks. Nothing in the App is safety advice. Use your own judgement about weather, water, tides and access, and respect private land and other anglers.

5. What you share

If you publish a profile, your name, username, profile photo, country, records, gallery photos, comments and reactions can be seen by other anglers. You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and resize it so the App can show it, for as long as it's published.

Only post photos you took or have the right to share. Publish only fish you actually caught, with honest weights and lengths.

6. Community rules

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Don't post or send anything that is:

Names, comments and photos are checked automatically before other anglers can see them, and a photo must show a fish. You can report any angler or block them from their profile. We review reports and act on them within 24 hours, by removing content and, where needed, removing the person responsible from the App.

7. Subscriptions

Some features need an AnglerDex subscription, sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play at the price shown in the App before you buy. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Payment is taken by Apple or Google, and you can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App or your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

8. Our content

The App, its species art, guides and design belong to us or our licensors. You may use them within the App for your own fishing, but you may not copy, sell or redistribute them.

9. Things you mustn't do

Don't try to break, overload or reverse engineer the App, get around its limits, access other people's accounts, or collect other anglers' information.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time from Profile, then Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

11. The App as it is

We work to keep AnglerDex reliable and accurate, but we provide it as it is and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or remove features over time.

12. Our liability

We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, for business losses, or for anything that results from relying on a species suggestion. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

13. Apple

If you use the App on an Apple device, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no responsibility for the App or its support, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, entitled to enforce them against you. Your use must also follow the Apple Media Services Terms.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the App if a change is significant. Using the App after a change means you accept the new terms.

15. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in another country, you keep the protection of your local consumer law and can bring a claim in your local courts.
